Our Model

CameroonFDP employs a innovative approach to educating and empowering  youth that infuses educational lessons and discussion into football (soccer) practices and competitions in a positive and uplifting  atmosphere.

We create triple impact in communities in Cameroon by supporting:

  • Life skills and health education for children ages 10-14 who play in our leagues
  • Academic scholarships, leadership training, and mentoring experiences for teenagers age 15-19 who serve as youth coaches
  • Employment and job skills training for young adults ages 20-29  who serve as community leaders

Working closely with the Ministry of Sports and the South West Bureau of Federation of Cameroonian Football (FECAFOOT), we build youth-led, grassroots football leagues in the communities we serve. Our goal is to create a functioning framework to support the scale and growth of our model across Cameroon.

Every season has a theme and every training session and match has a topic related to a health or social issue. Using our PLAY4PURPOSE method, we seamlessly connect sport with social impact; our core values are exemplified on and off the field.

Competitions provide an opportunity for coaches and referees to “test” what the players know by asking questions of teams before they take to the pitch.

Equipment is awarded to encourage participation and excellence on and off the field.
